Vorkosigan as in the family of Miles, Aral, Cordelia, & Mark in Lois McMaster Bujold's series, and the HP/Barrayar crossovers by hedda62.

California is nice, although I keep on having to look at the calendar every single day to remind myself of what month it is, never mind the day.
