I think that it is worth it -- I have not yet put "the program" into effect, merely started to write out projects, but I find even doing that is a great help. I think that this is a book to be read & reread -- I've read it once so far & plan on rereading it again this week to let it sink in a bit before I screw my courage up and begin to get with the program.

Why is litigation driving you nuts? In terms of getting put into transactional, I think asking for the work would be fine -- you may want to present it first as "getting more well-rounded" if you think they'd be reluctant to give you the work otherwise....
