Knit sweatband

So I asked my brother what I should knit him (he will probably be heading down South this year for a while), and he said what he could use is a headband/sweatband. I'm thinking Cascade Fixation might work-- any recommendations for patterns & size of needles to use? He is quite a conservative dresser & persnickety about what he wears. I'm considering doing some sort of cable, like the belt in Knitty a while back.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a few headbands on [livejournal.com profile] knitting recently, and in most cases the pattern would be linked or at least the pattern source mentioned.

Just thought I would say "hello." [livejournal.com profile] roseprofessor recommended that I chat with you because I am about to finish law school and am thinking about changing my career a bit. I have been working in-house as a patent agent for the last two years and I am thinking about going the firm route.

There's a post about it here (http://chaeche.livejournal.com/255317.html) and I would greatly appreciate any advice you could give.

Also I can't believe we haven't met each other already. How many HP/patent people are there?
