They say this will be the Year of the Rat, but it seems that for me, it is going to be the Year of the Frog. Note to self: Reynolds Lopi tends to break quite frequently while knitting. I have not yet ripped out the vest, but I am at the verge of doing so. Also am contemplating ripping out a couple of pairs of socks that are loose & baggy around the ankles...

Still have the shopping jones, drat it all.

About the socks: if I were you, I'd just scrunch them down further and wear them over tights or leggings and take the position that that's exactly the result you intended. But then I've just barely figured out gloves, if I knitted socks, I'd expect them to be in the Smithsonian after all that work.

Well, the main problem is that the lower portion of the legs and the feet are too loose, so the socks work well as bed socks, but not otherwise. I think that the trick of dropping down 2 needle sizes once I'm done with the calf will work, though.
