still alive

Between work, taking a class, and following football, I've had no time and inclination to update this thing.
Very Bad: Stupid EE TA who can't even troubleshoot a circuit -- grr. I can't figure out whether he is:
a) lazy
b) incompetent
c) sexist male chauvinist pig
d) all of the above. Will definitely put a word into the ears of the people at work about him...
Good: ND football is proving quite entertaining at the moment, and I have fun reading the local papers and their blogs to the Old Man as a report from enemy territory every Sunday (and sometimes Friday). The fun of being in Pac-10 territory...I sincerely hope that USC gets the death penalty to their athletic program (well, okay, at least football for 3-4 years), that Oregon and Washington both lose the rest of their games, and that Stanford decides to go to Div. I-AA to join the rest of its aspirational peers (namely the Ivies). I wouldn't mind playing Cal-Berkeley and UCLA for a while...
Annoying I: Safari seems to have lost the setting to show the little silver bar on the bottom of the window that shows you where your outgoing links are going.
Annoying II: the Mac is running damn slow, particularly when I have iTunes 7 up and/or Safari. May have to consider whether I should upgrade the hard drive, or else run through the "Degunk Your Mac" book. (may also want to consider upgrading the Mac, as it is an eMac ca 2001...)
