Hah! But I'm not going back to graduate school in chemistry, thankyouverymuch.
Edited to add: Brooke thinks I should axe the part where Mike Vector confronts Snape, and instead, after the Ministry scene, put in an exchange of letters between Mike and Emmy about "you need to ask your fiancee what he did in the summer of 1975." She thinks I don't need an additional confrontation between Snape and a Vector...
I have to write thank-you notes to my interviewers. My husband was frustrated with me last night -- "a thank-you note is a single page, and you can write pages and pages of story..." Brooke pointed out it's a different skill set. I think it's trauma -- I hate interviewing and so when I get out, I don't want to have anything more to do with the process. Including writing thank-you notes. I think it was Heinlein who pointed out that the Japanese expressions for "gratitude" translate more accurately to "resentment." So maybe I can think of them as a cover for my resentment...
I have to print out more of the MPEP now. Five chapters took one cartridge; 22 chapters and 10 appendices left to go.
Off I go to breakfast and the to-do list...
