morning report
Nov. 26th, 2003 09:14 amHello to
grey_bard who newly friended me. Pull up a chair, grab a beverage of your choice, welcome to the rambling....
I must call up the law school library today and see if I can get them to renew my books on-line. There is some sort of stupid lock on me renewing the books on-line because they're overdue. And I got an email notice that they'll fine me 50 cents/day until I bring the books back. Grrr. We should get longer than two weeks to check out books. I personally think that at least a month is necessary, and the entire semester would be nice.....The truly annoying thing is that the policies are inconsistent across the university's libraries. So if I go to the main library on campus, I can check out books for the entire semester. I also cannot return the books to any library on campus, but instead have to return the law school books to the law school, the main library books to the main library, etc. Every other university I've attended with more than one library has had the policy of open returns. That is, the books can be checked out of one library and returned to another school library; the libraries function as one system, not as autonomous fiefs....Ah well, the campus here isn't that big, so it's more of an inconvenience than anything else, but it's still irritating.
I wonder if I should give out LJ codes to the rest of the siblings-in-law....
All right. Time to go start packing and see what I need to bring for the weekend. Then I'll go window-shopping at Lands' End and wait for
minastir to pick me up.
