Good: Survived the Aged Parents being in town and staying with us. 1) They do not travel very well, unfortunately. 2) The Old Man had to bring work with him. 3) Mother can eat virtually nothing without it causing her upset digestion or allergic reaction.

Good: Notre Dame won this weekend.

Bad: The people organizing concessions at Stanford Stadium could not organize a happy hour in a brewery. They ran out of coffee by halftime. Heck, nobody in the athletic department at Stanford can apparently realize that tickets in a stadium can be assigned seats.

Very Bad: the idiot sitting behind us during the game who was talking on his cell phone during in game, and making incredibly anti-Catholic and anti-Hispanic slurs during the conversation. I asked him twice politely "excuse me, we're trying to watch the game here." If I had been admitted to the California Bar already, the only question would have been whether I'd have thrown his phone down onto the field or stuffed it down his throat. After all, if marijuana possession only gets you a fifteen-day suspension from the California State Bar... (especially if any of the disciplinary board would be Cal-Berkeley graduates >:>)

Good: Seeing the in-laws & surviving dealing with the eldest brother-in-law.

Promises to be interesting: Giving advice on dating to the eldest brother-in-law. I have already warned him that the only man I've dated is his brother & ergo I have little ground to do any analysis on. His reply was "at least it was a successful dating experience."

Very Good: The married brother-in-law and his wife are expecting. So minastir and I get to be indulgent uncle and aunt this summer. (pressure is off us, hooray, hooray) I am already starting to mentally plot out what to knit the baby.

Just Plain Weird: Seeing one of my college classmates (who I had a crush on at one point) at the tailgater and winding up talking to him, his father-in-law and sister-in-law for at least half an hour....(unfortunately, his wife & mother-in-law not there) & finding out that this college classmate & his wife are planning to adopt children.

Bad: I apparently have picked up a fine case of attention deficit disorder somewhere. I must start getting up early so I can start writing and exercising again before work in order to calm myself down. I am old enough to know that if I don't get those two things done before work, I'll never get them done at all that day.

Promises to be long: the next three weeks, between writing patents at work & the choir concert season.

Bad: The godawful Mary-Sue Harlequin romance roman-a-clef that is EATING MY BRAIN and my ability to concentrate & to write HP fic. I feel very guilty about it, but I think I must write it as a form of exorcism, even if it is too much of a roman-a-clef to ever see the light of day.
