Still alive (obviously) & now have assistant engineer-chaser (AEC) working with me. AEC has age & treachery on his side, which may help in terms of putting the fear of God & Legal into the engineers & marketing...

The PTO is out in California this week so I went to go hear what trouble they are cooking up for innocent patent practicioners the most recent news is from the Office. After KSR, it appears that somebody needs to write "Obviousness for Dummies" . Also heard many war stories from the Office of Enrollment and Discipline (they sneakily saved the ethics hour for last so that we all had to stay until the end). It appears that they are still going ahead w/ the continuation practice -- at least, they have not released any further changes to the public, and they sent a draft of the rules to OMB. Five dollars says that somebody sues the PTO once the proposed rules come out....

What I want to do in terms of skiving off instead of cleaning house & saving $ toward buying house:
1) Bookstore -- see what is new
2) Knitting -- set of Options needles from Knitpicks
3) computer games!


House prices: appear to be dropping, so maybe we can actually afford something after all, if the economy does not tank.
