(no subject)
Jan. 30th, 2009 01:48 pmGood: job interview next week, and another firm curious about me as well.
Bad: feeling stagnant, frustrated, & discouraged. I need to get back into working, either legal or scientific.
Mixed: sending out more applications (getting more out, although not as many as I want/feel I need to).
Answer me in comments; should I:
a) try to stick it out in patent law?
b) try to get into litigation?
c) switch to other IP law? (e.g. trademark/copyright)? (TM can be fun although rather more gray-scaled than patent law)
d) switch to bankruptcy law?
e) get back into the lab? (bear in mind I've been out of the lab for eight years now)
f) something else which you will tell me in comments
BTW, the only things I would consider going to back to school for are: working on nuclear fusion; or what I refer to mentally as "cleanup chemistry/engineering" (e.g. how to fix broken transport/waste processing cycles/etc); or textile technology (e.g. how to get dye to better stick to cloth/yarn). I bridle at authority far too much to subject myself to the indentured-servitude system known as the Ph.D. process ever again (unless I could finish in under 3 years, and water is more likely to spontaneously flow uphill than that happens).
