and bemused by various sources of yarn:
Yarn made out of banana trees, I kid you not.
Buffalo yarn.
And then of course there is the (in)famous possum yarn. From New Zealand. http://productsfromnz.com/browse_1873 http://www.thewoolcompany.com/whats_new/ Not the same possums as in North America, alas.
(idly wonders if one could spin fiberglas insulation into yarn...probably too itchy, and actual glass too breakable...hmm, what about knitting with optical fiber....)
Now when is the San Diego Zoo going to start offering yarn produced from some of the critters there, such as those weird ones that are related to the musk ox? They could call it ZooKnits.
Work goes on apace. Busy, although still not getting a whole lot of prosecution on my desk yet, as need more training in order to write cases more efficiently. Hopefully the client the senior associate and I are meeting with tomorrow will show up with a signed engagement letter and a check for the firm's retainer.
Badly jonesing for a book-buying trip to the bookstore, which is scheduled for Saturday after training. I think I shall get some more Steven Brust and the new Christopher Stasheff. The new David Drake Leary/Mundy is out now, and I read it at the bookstore, but it was in HC and I don't think I'll get it until it comes out in paperback. My OTP is still alive.
And Hallowed Hunt's first chapter is available in pdf, thanks to
ase and
gryphons_lair for the link. May 24th I will be at the local bookstore with cash in my greedy hot little hands....
