Well, they went fairly well all things considered.
Dec. 24th -- biked to the yarn store with minastir on the tandem, bought magazines and yarn, then went out to dinner. I always feel a little strange being at the yarn store in my cycling gear. Decided against going to "midnight" (9 pm) mass. Opened one present per tradition, found it was a book of 100 hats to knit & crochet, of which only 30 were knit. Sigh. It was a present from my mom, but I was disappointed. 1) I Do Not Crochet, For It Hurts My Wrists. 2) I know she does not like using the computer, but I've only had a wishlist on Amazon for 3-4 years now...so minastir had me open a little present from him. Doctor Who "City of Death" DVD, and a book on cats. Much better. (The tradition evolved because Dad's family would open presents on Christmas Eve, and Mother's on Christmas Day. I usually got at least one fantasy/sf book, so I'd try to open that one, then stay up late reading & my parents got to sleep in.)
Dec. 25th -- Went to services at a reasonable hour, came home, had lunch, opened presents, called all the relatives, had dinner. The Rest of the Loot: Not Just More Socks book, a GPS, Doctor Who "Key to Time" boxed DVD set, a Galileo thermometer, a new set of silverware, and various sums.
Dec. 26th -- did laundry, cleaned out my closet/went through clothes (2 garbage bags to go out to Goodwill) with minastir's commentary that when he cleans his closet, he may wind up giving away 4-5 pieces of clothing. minastir grew up wearing clothes that I would have put into the rag bin...I even did some ironing, and now onto filling out the dreaded Application for Determination of Moral Character...
And I saw this at pegkerr's LJ. http://perfectpetzzz.com/ I. Want. A. Siamese.
