v. long week at the office. May (should) go in this weekend to catch up w/ the docket. Then must do reading for new electrical engineering class. What I'd really prefer to do is go yarn-shopping & biking & knitting, or the beach or the mountains, or a day-spa.... (looking forward oh-so-much to Stitches West this month...)
There are days when I feel like I'm working in a Dilbert cartoon. Mostly when I deal with marketing...
Also, patent trolls are teh evil, and so are the slimy shysters who represent such. Although I suppose there are worse jobs in terms of evil-- in-house IP counsel for Philip Morris springs to mind.
Also, tips from Counselor Rudbek for job-seeking patent geeks:
1) if you're not a registered patent attorney/agent, don't state on your resume that you're prosecuting patents & responding to Office Actions. The USPTO and various state bars would think that you're engaged in unauthorized practice of law, and your future employer doesn't want to mess with the possibility that the PTO will bust you.
2) If you change your first name after getting some patents, then get some more patents, you might want to think about leaving the patents under your old name off the resume. particularly in a situation where it leaves the appearance that you're claiming someone else's patents.
however, in other good news, I did not lose all my data that I had on the ye ancient Clie (KnitAble, EatWatch), and Palmthing on its own does NOT crash the Clie. However, my LibraryThing data still will not download to the Clie, even with the MemoryStick inserted. At least I can keep track on line and send it to Mom...
Must find minastir a Valentine's present....
