the job hunt

Well, I am back in town after a proper vacation. Note to self: never, never schedule interviews for the day after Labor Day, or even two days after, as Murphy's Law will kick in. I had to do one interview from the hotel room at oh-dark-thirty am; the other interview with employer who invents things that go BOOM has been shifted from phone to on-site and delayed until a week from today.
The goal of sending out 5 resumes/day has almost been achieved (still have to do 7 more today to hit the goal for the past two weeks). I've been sending out everywhere from Boston to CA...
One of the more notorious/famous law firms in town has my resume now and wanted my transcripts. I suppose that if they call me to interview, I will do it, but they are part of the 94% of law firms that give the other 6% a bad name.

Date: 2008-09-06 05:13 am (UTC)Bastard Git Faced Spawn of The Devil Law Firm From Hell's Evil Yankee Cousin That reminds me, I should probably put in at a few more firms, although a fair amount of them would probably be reluctant because I've already jumped in-house once already. At least that's what one recruiter I put in with indicated.
At this point, and reviewing the lack of training I currently have, I'm not sure whether I'd be better off back at a law firm or not, in order to see whether I could get anything more out of it (e.g. draft more applications, or else switch into doing litigation).
Hopefully I will see you at INTA in Seattle, if I have a job and can convince the employer to send me out (or maybe I'll be working in Seattle -- who knows at this point?)
