Mass at St. M's this morning, and a wonderful homily on the Resurrection being a surprise and how plans never work out as we anticipate. Too bad the folk choir apparently had not rehearsed -- they were attempting to do proper Easter hymns and obviously weren't used to singing those tunes. If I could only find a parish with 17th century art and music and 21st century theology, I'd be quite happy. Ah well. At least St. M's has pre-1960's architecture, so it is not too offensive to the eye. Needs more color on the walls & windows, but the bones are sound, and it looks like a proper Catholic church.
Out to brunch afterward, and we stopped at a place that we've often passed but never been to -- wound up having sushi and Chinese & Korean food, and it was good. Weird coincidences: my new boss walked in as we were almost done, so I got to introduce her to
minastir and vice versa.
Then home, laundry, filling out & checking tax forms, & napping. Nightmares about going to the old workplace tomorrow instead of the new one, and getting myself fired from the new place for not showing up.
Still can't quite believe it's happening, but happening it is. Deo gratias.
