stress levels way high
Jul. 13th, 2008 10:39 pmSo we actually had a departmental meeting on Friday to find out where we will be sitting when we move to the new building(s). Good: I finally have a window. Bad: I am far too close to the CEO's office for my liking (although it appears that I am out of the direct line of fire from his office, so to speak). Undetermined: whether I will still go and sit w/ engineering for half the week. Also Bad: basically being told that I and the other engineer-chaser in Legal will still have to do a lot of the admin work associated w/ the patents/TM/(c) etc. I definitely work for a Republican administration, as the Old Man would put it. Also, we will be expected to go in and set up over the weekend of the move so we can be ready to work on Monday.
The move will happen before the month is out, so my stress level is way high. Also, minastir is finishing his MBA this summer, and he is taking a class on law and business right now.
Weather: hot, often overcast/hazy due to particulate matter from the fires.
Good: getting my anniversary/birthday present early this year. A nice new Palm TX perfect for storing records on my 1.2 metric Bryants of books, and all the yarn stash to boot. Now if I could download my Ravelry queue in Excel, it would be perfect (although the TX does have wifi access, so Ravelry may not be that far away at the yarn stores. Must check this.)
Jonesing to go yarn shopping so bad; mostly for dishcloth cotton so I can make shopping bags, dishcloths, etc. It's too hot to knit with wool at this point.
Irritating: sunburn on the back of my neck from company party yest. Must remember to wear polo shirts & cover the neck at the upcoming alumni picnic next Sat. Must also remember to update alumni website.
