irritation w/ mother

Very irritated w/ my mother right now -- one of my great-uncles died, I'd like to get back there for the funeral (and see all the relatives from my dad's side of the family), and she's saying that I shouldn't bother because my brother will be in next week and it will be too much for her. Guess I know who's *her* favorite child....
