So I started wondering about the threeps and body dysphorism and transgender and asexual issues..,

What about normal (non-Haden's) people who experience body dysphorism or who are transgender or asexual agender? (Edited per neotoma's comment) Would they be advocating for access to threeps in order to have a body/threep that would match what they physically wanted to be? And how would society deal with that?

Do you mean 'agender' instead of 'asexual'? And I think a story about trans and non-binary people advocating for access to threeps would be interesting.

Sorry, agender would indeed be more appropriate, and pretty much canonical as Scalzi never specified Chris Shayne's gender. Although the bike accident incident and the senior Shaynes' response in the novel has always made me read Chris as male, so I have even more assumptions to go check at the door.
