kaylarudbek: Justice seated in the heavens with open eyes and an uplifted sword (PD_Cricket)
Well, the antihistamine worked very, very well last night. I was out like a light until an hour before I had to catch the bus this morning. And I was not too logy in class today, which I was worried about with having both antihistamine and wine.

Trying to decide if I want to go swimming today. My back hurts a little bit, but I will be getting in a lot of walking this afternoon. But I do need more exercise; drat my weight gain this semester. Ah well, next semester's schedule will be better. Only one night class, and a 9 am class Tues-Thurs-Fri. Professor C. told me yesterday that her trademark seminar was going to be a repeat of the trademark class I've already taken from her, and so I shouldn't be taking it. Which means that due to the rest of my schedule, I will be taking Prof. M.'s Law of Privacy class to get my minimum number of credits in. Which is a good thing for the Comment I'm writing.

My thoughts are turning toward holidays, as American Thanksgiving is next week. So I need to finish off a lot of work before Mr. Rudbek and I head to my parents'. And then I will be shopping for my parents' Christmas presents. The Old Man is easy to get ideas for: gadgets, etc. I've found him a few games for his computer, so he can run his own air force and be dictator of a small Caribbean island. He always jokes about what he's going to do when he's dictator of the world, so I figured I'd give him a start. Maybe I should see if I can find him some type of race-car game: Mr. Rudbek stopped by a computer store last night and was playing a game where you got to race a car through a city at 130 miles/hr. Seeing as the Old Man is the definition of "leadfoot," that might be a good game to get for him, if they have it for Mac.

Mother, on the other side, is much, much more difficult to shop for. I'm almost at the point of getting her a nice silk sweater or something along those lines, or a Barnes & Noble gift certificate. And my brother is very difficult to shop for as well...

Shopping was quite productive in terms of finding something for my mother. The Bombay Company was having a sale, and I found her a very nice set of salt-and-pepper shakers. Now for my brother, who is most persnickety about his clothes and reading material...sigh. Although I'm not sure where my brother will be for Christmas, because he has such a crazy work schedule....

Since Mr. Rudbek and I will be seeing my parents next week, and then not again before Christmas, I wanted to have their presents ready to go by next Wednesday.

Edited to add: Called the parents. Forgot about Grandpa. The Old Man suggested a bottle of Windsor Canadian for Grandpa. The Old Man wants the 4-disk set of The Two Towers. Mom wants a Turtle Fur hat.

On feedback: I try to give it to writers who really, really strike me, or if I have time for it. I love getting it, of course, but I realize that time is limited, and so I don't expect it at all. I track how much I'm read by hit counts on the first and then the most recent chapter of, e.g. Vector's Challenge...*g* And on responding to feedback, well, again, my time is limited. I do try to thank my reviewers in my Author's Notes, though. And yes, I do realize it's a type of social currency, or the oil that makes this creaky social machine work as well as it does. And I should give out more of it than I do....sigh.
